It always seems to be flu, cold, or allergy season. There is always something going around when you need to travel for an audition or competition.
Many of the world’s greatest opera houses have great backstage tours. Often times you get to hear stories of the great singers who have worked there, and depending on the house, you can even try out the acoustics yourself.
A few years ago, I was in a sticky situation that included flying to New York for an audition, flying back the same day and having another audition the next day.
Now that you have successfully made it to your audition location, you need a place to crash for a few days.
If you are planning for auditions in New York City or another big location, you need to do your homework.
